Agathe Michel-de Cazotte focuses her practice on patent law. As a qualified engineer in the fields of microelectronics and optics, her technical background helps her solve complex legal issues whilst taking into account the requirements of the specific technology involved.
She is currently part-time seconded to our London office; hence acts in matters on a purely German and also on an international level. She focuses on litigation and counseling related to infringement and validity issues as well as on patent portfolio assessment and technology transfer aspects, with a focus on the pharma and telecom areas.
Before joining our German team, Agathe spent some time in the legal department of IBM in France and a year as a researcher in the Thales labs in Singapore. She, therefore, has an understanding of the business and R&D needs of large innovative companies and brings this knowledge into play when creative legal problem solving for her clients is required.
Agathe studied in Paris and Singapore and holds master’s degrees in physics, optics, microelectronics, and law. While she was a student at Sciences Po Paris, she was treasurer of the intellectual property society and organized several IP events. She is admitted to the bar in Paris and counts among the laureates of her year.
As a visiting lecturer at Cass Business School, Agathe teaches IP management. She also regularly talks at conferences.
