Nisha Patel Gupta has returned to Dechert LLP as an intellectual property partner based in Silicon Valley, according to a press release dated May 24, 2023. Ms. Gupta focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, particularly patent litigation issues. Ms. Gupta is well-versed in handling complex cases because she has extensive experience representing pharmaceutical, medical device, and technology companies in IP litigation suits as both plaintiffs and defendants. Her extensive knowledge of technology extends across a wide range of electrical and mechanical domains, including telecommunications, Internet platforms, computer architecture, fiber optic semiconductor devices / micro fabrication, medical devices, and telehealth systems.
All aspects of trial and appellate practice in federal courts across the United States are covered by Ms. Gupta’s expertise in litigation. She also has a lot of experience prosecuting patents and managing post-grant matters in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, such as re-examination and inter partes review proceedings. Ms. Gupta re-joins us after working in-house at LinkedIn, where she managed large-scale global litigation. This gives her a fresh business perspective and an understanding of the client’s perspective on the litigation experience. Ms. Gupta holds a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and a B.S. from UC Berkeley.
