Sai has advised clients in the energy, maritime, life sciences, logistics and manufacturing spaces and provided advice on matters related to media & entertainment, supply chain, and procurement, tech & IP (data protection, cybersecurity, blockchain), JVs, reorgs, and financings (debt or equity) for domestic and international clients.
He provides strategic counseling to early-stage, emerging and high-growth companies and their funders – be they PE/VC funds or angels.
Sai has also advised on vessel sales, charter party arrangements, sale-and-leasebacks, ship arrests, and other maritime regulatory issues. Notably, he led the ship sales and closings of 20 tanker vessels from a Saudi Aramco subsidiary to the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia in a USD 1.3 billion mergers creating one of the world’s largest shipping companies and resulting in the largest merger in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, Sai advises individual and corporate clients with business interests in and related to India. He maintains high profile relationships with legal and business contacts throughout India.
Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Sai was a founding partner at a law firm based in Washington, D.C. where he represented food & beverage industry clients, e-commerce portals, franchises, startups, investors and new/digital media companies of various sizes. He was also a Senior Associate and interim head of the Corporate Department at various international law firms based in Dubai.
Before practicing law, Sai worked at the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice where he assisted in U.S. federal prosecutions.
