Profile Summary
Chris James is Patent Counsel, Pixel at Google. In this role, Chris manages all patent issues for the product, including portfolio development and strategy, commercial deal negotiations, patent licensing, IP cost analysis, and policy. Chris also represents Google at ETSI, IEEE-SA, and the Fair Standards Alliance. Prior to the launch of the Pixel product line, Chris was lead patent counsel for Android Wear and the Android OS user interface. After a brief career as a software engineer, Chris graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 2008 and entered private practice with Cooley LLP. Chris joined Google in 2011.
